With the first snowfall, the Dolomites region around Mount Sciliar turns into a white wonderland. Fun on the slopes during a ski vacation at Alpe di Siusi
On the Alpe di Siusi, during the winter months, unlimited skiing pleasure awaits you on 60 kilometres of slopes. The sunny slopes mainly present an easy to moderate difficulty level and are also suitable for children. The ski area can be reached quickly and easily with the Alpe di Siusi cable car. The valley station is located in the village of Siusi allo Sciliar. In the ski resort Alpe di Siusi, there are two ski schools, where young holiday guests may safely learn how to ski under professional guidance. Moreover, the ski kindergarten offers hourly care of young skiing guests. Snowboarders and freestyle specialists may look forward to a snow park with half pipe and jump elements. About 10 kilometres from the Garni Silbernagl, there is the large winter sports centre Val Gardena, which offers a FIS World Cup slope. Both ski areas are part of Europe’s largest ski network – the Dolomiti Superski.
Winter leisure fun off the slopes
Outside of the ski resorts, on the Alpe di Siusi and around Castelrotto plenty of leisure activities await you, to turn your ski holiday in the Dolomites into a varied and enjoyable experience. Numerous natural toboggan runs invite you for great toboggan fun. A truly unique experience is a toboggan ride in the moonlight on a lighted run. Followers of cross-country skiing may look forward to a trail network with a total length of 80 kilometres in the valley and on the Alpe di Siusi. The Moonlight Classic is a traditional cross-country skiing race after dark on the Alpe di Siusi. During this event, cross-country skiers compete with each other on different distances on the largest mountain plateau in Europe. Ice skating is possible on the frozen Lake Fiè at the foot of Mount Sciliar, and during the festive season the traditional Christmas Markets in Bolzano, Bressanone and Castelrotto invite you to a visit.
